On the left are the new/un-opened mascaras: Rimmel Max Lash, BeneFit Get Bent, Barry M Intense Black Mascara, and Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Smoky Lash.
On the right are the ones I'm using: Rimmel Volume Extend, Rimmel Volume Flash, Rimmel 100% Waterproof, Clinique High Definition Lashes (thanks, Jayne!), and YSL Effet Faux Cils.
I opened and used the MUFE this morning (which by the way is really good) - total mascaras being used = 6. Afterwards I felt guilty for having so many on the go, so I binned the Volume Flash (time to go) and 100% Waterproof (didn't like it anyway).
What say you, am I being excessive in having that many on the go? To put it in perspective, I've had more on the go in the past... (I'm not telling you how many)... so I really am on the mend... I think... At least I'm using them and not leaving them to rot in the cupboard. Thinking about it, tomorrow I might open another one, for "research purposes"...

I have the same issue with eyeliners. I justify it because a lot of them were bargains. But then I can justify anything if I try hard enough!
That's not bad, in fact it's quite restrained really. When you think about all the amazing mascaras that are out there, you've done well only having 6 different ones on the go.
Plus, it's your duty to test lots of different products out so that you can tell us all about them :)
@Selina: *eyes opened REALLY wide* don't even get me started on eyeliners!!! I'm planning that confession on my next post. sigh...

Hehehe. It's irrelevant how many you had on the go in the past, it's all about now, and now you only have 6 ;)
Lol omg Im just like you. Sucks doesnt it!! Especially with mascaras because they have a shelf life of only 3months!! which means you'll be hard pressed to use up all these before they turn bad!!!!
Lorien, that's why I always try hard not to use ALL of them at the same time. I'm always "passing by" mascara counters anyway. :D I think mascaras have 6mths life before they need to be thrown away if you don't use them everyday...
